BUILDING A HOUSE IN RURAL KENYA.

Building a house is not simple but encouraging, it requires strategic planning and adequate finances to have it successful. Building a house in rural Kenya is cheap. Rural life is said to be cheap compared to the urban areas, it is cheaper from the way of life to the cost of building.

Houses in rural Kenya

In rural Kenya most houses are made from soil particularly clay, earth houses are made from soil.

Earth houses

These are houses commonly found in the rural areas of the country. This house is common in the rural due to the low living standards and less exposure to technology. This house is now improvised, in a way that it is plastered on the walls and floor and then renamed a semi-permanent house.

Other houses

Still, other houses like maisonette and bungalow houses designs have been built in the rural areas.  Hundreds of people have fled from the town areas and are building in the rural but rent in towns near where they work

Building a house in rural Kenya is peaceful having big land and building your house at the center means you will never be disturbed by your neighbors with the noise they tend to make.

For a house to be successfully built risk-free, the contractor is required to have a plan. A plan is the design and measurement put in scale of the actual house to be erected from the ground, it shows everything that the house must have and no additional feature is to be included.

Stages of building a house

1.      Land clearing

After the walls have been set up and have been given enough time to dry, the frames are built for roofing. But there are other roofs like the slab-made roof, the clay roofs, or the container homes which are already roofed.

4.      Wiring and flooring

This is the stage where electrical engineering comes in, the house is well-wired for lighting. Also, the floor is made things like plastering the wall and floor to make it ready for decorating. Plumbing is also done and all the electrical installations are done.

5.      Roofing

The roofing is then done, this will be the roof of your preferable specification, whether clay made or iron sheets.

6.      Interior and exterior finishing

Here decorations in the interior and exterior are made an example, fixing tiles, wood plastic composite or bare floor putting ceiling, painting and the walling finished.
